My dear friend who organized my Baby X pre-birth party asked the guests to bring me a small piece of fabric for me to make a baby quilt. At first, I was really panicky, 'I don't know how to make a quilt! Help!' After receiving the various pieces of fabric, I researched a bit online to see how quilts were made. And this is the result (I used some of my own fabric bits from my stash as well). It's not perfect but I actually worked hard at it (both my hands are numb from the Carpol Tunnel Syndrome brought on by pregnancy). I think it looks okay!

One last piece of baby sewing.....
I think this is my last piece of baby sewing. It's just getting more and more uncomfortable to do anything and I'm getting more and more tired by the day! Also, I'm now busy with getting the hospital bag ready and buying the rest of the stuff for the baby before it arrives.
This is the 2nd organic cotton fleece sleep sack I made for the baby. This one is sleeveless with a zipper. Good for the summer I hope!

Baby X party
This past weekend my good friend organized a pre-birth party for me at my home (I am hesitant to call it a Baby Shower because it was really cool and not lame! :-) It was a small party with a few good friends and some family members. I had a really good time!
I knew there were 2 babies coming to the party. I looked at my Indian Shesham coffee table, with all the sharp corners and metal studs, and I thought 'I must child-proof this table'! So I quickly looked at what I already have in my basement and my fabric stash and fashioned some sort of a fitted top to go over the coffee table. I used a layer of cardboard, a layer of quilt batting and topped it off with upholstery fabric. It was all done quickly the day before the party. Good thing because the kids were all around the coffee table and one fell around the table onto the area rug. Whew! Just-in-time child-proofing.......
